Spring Print Sneakers

It’s sneakers time again! I see more and more of them on the street in Toronto, replacing winter boots. Many Spanish companies make sneakers.  Some I had already featured on this blog (see post here), and some are new. There are so many (even after I narrowed down my selection) that I decided to divide them thematically. This post is about print sneakers – flowers, camouflage, animal print and so on.

The flower print Fatima Fantasia Blue canvas sneaker above is made by Maians. The canvas is comfortably soft, yet resilient, with a bit of leather detailing around the eyelets and the “collar”. Maians sneakers can be ordered online at the price of 55 Euro, plus shipping, except from Canada, where a Montreal-based representative of the brand, LEF Industries, has the rights of distribution. Unfortunately, the stores they distribute to carry a very small selection of Maians. YOOX carries some, but not this one and not many others that I like.

This very attractive Mustang Met canvas flower-print sneaker (see post about Mustang here) comes with a chunky robber sole. The Mustang online store is currently only delivering to mainland Spain. They are working on expanding their online sales to other countries and regions of Spain.

Animal-print espadrille-sole sneaker by Agilis Barcelona. The upper seems to be made of satin-type fabric. According to the company, this SAJA model is a classic oxford style lace-up espadrille. The company claims that their 100% natural jute fiber foot bed is the first anatomically contoured espadrille the world has seen, making Agilis Barcelona the most comfortable espadrille in the world. Agilis does not sell the sneakers and other shoes it makes online, but they have a map of stores that spans both Europe and North America.

A spiffy English-inspired “Prince of Wales” canvas sneaker model by Calzados Victoria. Calzados Victoria, a La Rioja-based company, has been in business of casual sporty footwear for men, women, and kids for a 100 years. Their online shop seems to deliver worldwide, if you choose the “world” option. Some Victoria sneakers are sold through YOOX.COM, but the selection is small.

This bold leopard print sneaker in burgundy polyester upper with matching laces and cotton lining on a double platform by Calzados Victoria is a real head-turner.

These are the high-end cool Ares camouflage print sneakers with the characteristic Munich Sports signature cross detail. Available online from Munich Sports in a fashion section.
