Pons Quintana Blue Suede Shoes

I doubt that these Pons Quintana suede ankle booties from the brand’s FW2013-14 collection look anything like the Blue Suede Shoes that Elvis Presley sang about (those were apparently part of the air force uniform in the fifties), but there is something irresistible about suede, especially when it’s blue. The color of these lace-up high-heeled shoes is listed as “azulón” – the special Spanish word for deep blue.  They are the very embodiment of fall elegance: high-heeled (the heel is 9.5 cm, with a 2 cm hidden platform), cut low at the side of the ankle, so that more of the leg is revealed, with a zip-up back. The zipper is gold-colored metal with a little blue suede tassel. Rubber sole. Simple and stunning.
